I'm going to New York in less than a week to sing with a choir. And see "The Phantom of the Opera" on Broadway. Squee!

Just got my copy of LND in the mail and some more published fan ficton. Now I have to wait for my friend to come over so we can laugh our heads off at the vampie-phantom.

Mission accomplished! Hugh Panaro played Erik and it was utterly AMAZING. Nothing has been changed on Broadway yet as far as I can tell, which is probably because things that hit the UK take a while before they actually hit the US *cough*Sherlock*cough.* At any rate, they wouldn't just dump changes on us in the middle of a season. They would have to wait at least until next season so that the new blocking could be rehearsed and all of the kinks worked out. Plus, there might not even BE any changes if the UK audiences react negatively. I saw it in the Majestic Theater, which feels as if it were MADE to be home to Phantom. Each individual seat in the audience is a work of art, and dear LORD, the CEILING!! That chandelier belongs there. And Hugh Panaro. Oh. My. Goodness. I think my ovaries exploded from the sheer amount of sexy that was on that stage. I didn't get to see him exit the stage door, but I think that just seeing him live was enough. He has the most amazing voice. Okay, I'll stop phangirling now.

Woo! Good to know! I could get over the supposed London changes if they put back the iconic unmasking and give Erik the smooch he deserves, haha.

Like the new London one or the one in the Boardway verison? I was referring to the new UK tour. (P.S. Right now I'm in Santa Fe, NM and we went and saw Arabella and Maometto II at the Santa Fe Opera and this morning we went on a backstage tour of the theater and tonight we're going to see Tosca with my great-uncle who is coming down from Colorado and then on Friday we'll be seeing The Pearl Fishers and I'm so excited and this is a run-on sentence.)
