I know, and I've read good ones. That was *very* OOC, and painfully vulgar and immature and tactless. Even if it had nothing to do with PotO, it would have been a painful lemon to read. One-shots can be particularly tricky, especially in the case of characters with a complex relationship.. in the Victorian era... and I understand this author is a novice and very likely too young to be writing smut, but I can't pretend it's good. I honestly wonder if it's a parody fic, making fun of bad smut, or if they're being sarcastic. |

I felt the same way when I read the Colette Gale "Unmasqued" erotic novel. I had to read it to the bitter end because I'd already invested so much time in starting to read it. Every. Painful. Word. I never imagined doing that with a harp... and I never wanted to. |
