Come on, we all have them. Let's hear about your favourite actors that have worn that wondrous mask!
Including links is encouraged!
All righty, I shall go first. Out of all the Phantoms I've seen Tim Martin Gleason was hands down my favourite. I still can't get over that guy. In fact I loved his preformance so much I went out of state just to see him again.
But my all time favourite, is, my first Phantom, Michael Crawford. *dies thinking About his brilliance*

I LOVE Tim Martin Gleason's voice! So rich and powerful. I've never seen him as Erik, though, only listened to him.
I think my favorite Erik actor would be Charles Dance. He's so close to how I imagine Erik personality-wise, and I absolutely loved how human he made Erik. Not to mention he's hilarious. Very Kay-esque. I just wish he would have kept his lovely English accent. I think it would have fit the character beautifully.

So I haven't literally seen any Phantom, but I've seen a decent amount of bootlegs and Youtube videos. My favorite Phantom is Hugh Panaro, and that would be because he embodies Kay Erik for his interpretation. And I absolutely adore Kay. So yeah. :)

Bah, Muirin took mine XD
Charles Dance has to be my favorite too. I haven't seen most of the versions out there, but I don't think I'll find one as satisfying and expressive as him. He proves that all you don't need to see a person's face to know what they're feeling. I just re-watched that yesterday and the scene where Christine faints and he just slowly folds over her, reaching out, but not touching, so much pain... I still cry!

It's a tough call, but Tim Martin Gleason is my absolute favorite as well. It's something about his vibrato that I can't quite place. And of course his voice just soars.
Gary Mauer's also up there. His voice can come across as slightly...inconsistent at some points, but then, I suppose it's only fitting (though it does bug me occasionally). He's definitely my favorite as far as acting goes.

Call me biased, but Anthony Warlow definitely stole the role when I saw him a couple of years back. His voice, the way he makes Erik's pain seem so genuine and real... It gives me shivers just to think back to it!
And of course, who could forget John Owen Jones? The man is amazing. Period.
Movie wise, I haven't seen all that many, but Robert Englund's perforamcne was honestly wonderful.

I have to get the movie back from my friend now that I'm thinking about it, I feel the need to watch it again.

Gary Mauer, John Owen Jones, John Caudia, brad little, Charles Dance, Richard white, Gram Burkley and so many more just all have the voice, the acting the over all power of their presence just gives them the air of an Erik if you know what i mean. I have so many many favorites. Robert Englund is also one of my favorites. everyone is so amazing its hard to choose just one @.@

I feel like I have so many different favorite Phantom actors. For me, it's because each one embodies something that I feel like Erik should have. I have a favorite something about each one. I love Hugh Panaro, Gary Mauer, John Cudia, Anthony Warlow, Brad Little...each one's voice has a part of what I think Erik's voice should sound like, or the way each one acts has a part of how I think Erik would act. I don't want to go into each one because then it would take too long...haha.

I love all of the west end phantoms, and since charles dance is british, i guess he counts as well. Most of my experience comes from bootlegs since i've never actually seen the show and don't know i will ever be able to (fingers crossed for the 25 anniversary DVD in January)
