I rather love the curls. I think that if they had made her hair straight it wouldn't be the same, no matter what the color.
Those wigs for the ALW production are amazing. I seriously thought that Sara Jean Ford (who played Christine when I got to see it on Broadway) was a brunette but she's a blonde! The wigs are so seamless though!

Am I correctly informed that Sarah Brightman wasn't wearing a wig at all back then? I heared stories of that being the reason that ALW Christine has dark curls. Because those were really Sarah's gorgeous locks.

Because those were really Sarah's gorgeous locks. That's what I heard as well. I'm not certain of that. The book I have focuses on the 86 cast and Brightman has short-ish hair in all the pictures. Plus there's a photo of some of Christine's costumes and one of the things in the room are her wig of long dark curls. |

I agree wholeheartedly with The-Savage-Nymph.
I LOVE THAT HAIR. Christine is also my dream role in theatre entirely because of that hair. I want to wear that wig so badly...

Yeah I see what you mean about the curls getting tamer. I feel like in the 80's big hair was more in fashion rather than nowadays. Maybe even if Sarah Brightman didn't use her own hair, her hair was the inspiration for the curls...? |

Sometimes I think they just went lazy with caring for the wigs... Because the dances in "Hannibal" still have some really BIG curls... |
