Wow, this Phantom's face is even prettier than Gerard's. I want to give them kudos for including the Persian, but Erik face only has a few smudges. I wish I could read it! Then I could see if he's whining like a baby about it. "Is this face the infection that poisons our love?" - Shaddup Gerik.. you're freakin' handsome, crybaby.

In the 2006 production of Yeston & Kopits musical... They had a deformity... well.... It was a dark mark on the right side of the face shaped like the sign for "ugly" XD

"You've been marked young man, now spend the rest of your life underground wearing a mask!! DO IT!" XDDD The funny thing is, in the Yeston&Kopit version, there normally is NOT deformity seen. They always hide the face. But the Takarazuka goes like: "Let's have an opening song and dance without mask BUT with deformity so peolpe know exactly WHY Erik hides!! MUHAHAHAHAHA!!!"

Yeah, I always found it very well done that you never see the deformity in the YK verison. But obviously, the truth was, when Erik was just a little boy his daddy gave him Sharpies to play with. Since it was back in the 1800's people had not yet learned how to remove the Sharpie and since Erik was but a wee child, he like all wee children wrote on himself. It was terrible. It was horrifying. It was tragic. And the wails heard in the night were not actually those of the Sharpie-d child but those of his father, trying tirelessly to remove said marker so Erik might have a slight glimer of hope at a normal life...

Indeed XD But the look of Erik in this other Manga is quite fitting, i think. Have you checked? The one from "Jet"
