So, if you've seen the movie, what did you think? The first few minutes, at least on the copy I saw, are almost entirely black. You can hardly see anything, and it's really creepy. While I think it may be due to aging of the film, it certainly serves to set the mood.
The plot is really convoluted though, featuring a 30 minute flashback and all of this business about Chinese nationalism that is really confusing if you don't know much about Chinese history, which unfortunately I don't.
