Really? There too? O.o I haven't read that book yet. Would you recommend it? Not unless you can find it cheap. I mean, it's cute little story I suppose, but once again she makes Raoul a jerk, Christine is lonely, wishes Erik was there. At least Christine and Raoul behave like a proper married couple and creat a child. It's a lot of fluff. The author writes the Persian okay, though. So you can find it for ten bucks or less and want a quick fluff read that doesn't entirely make sense, go for it. But it's not the best I've read.

Hmm.. unless I can bum it off a friend I think I'll pass. I have, however, read a much better (arrogant assumption on my part, but what the hell!) fanfiction along the same vein. Destruction of Obsession by KittyPimms. It takes the hypothetical prompt of "if Erik forced Christine into marriage after her redemptive kiss". I enjoyed the realism, but I think some things are a little over-exaggerated and out of character here and there. Like, Christine seems a little too delicate, even if it's the Victorian era, and Erik seems to talk in third person all the time in the beginning, BUT it was very anti-fangirl. My FAVORITE fanfiction, so far, is The Chain Unbroken by inkblottales. I LOVE this fic. I can't say too much about it, because it actually has many unpredictable twists and turns, and even a touch of mystery. If there's one free fanfiction piece I think every fan should read, this is it. Reading this, I've laughed, cried, felt all warm and fuzzy, and HATED the author's guts... in a good way. ^.^

Ooh! That reminds me. I actually haven't started reading Muirin007's Haunted yet. It's been on my list of things to do for a while now, but after shutting myself in my room for the past 4 months just to read, I keep seeming to get distracted with life. Soon though... I'll be ready to shut myself in with a good story again.
PS: Don't punish me! Lol.

I've written bits of Phantom fiction before but I don't feel worthy enough to write him. I don't think I would get his character wrong at all, I just don't think I'm supposed to write him, hahahaha.
That being said, I just got a new Phantom book. I shall give my report shortly no doubt. And depending on how it turns out I might jut write my own since I've been disappointed too many times with these stories that people keep churning out and actually getting published.

That's usually my motivating factor whenever I write... after a spree of bad fanfiction, I feel like I NEED to do something. I got into a forum-based RPG just so I could play around with the characters a bit before I start writing anything serious. Someday!
What book did you get? I'll be very interested in hearing your critique. ^.^

I love Kay's "Phantom," but for some reason in my edition the introductory pages as to who the narrator is for each section ALWAYS MISSPELL ERIK'S NAME AS ERIC. I mean, seriously, WHAT THE HECK?? I wouldn't mind so much if it was spelled as Eric all throughout the book, but no! It's just those pages! Worst printing mistake I've ever seen.

And honestly, it would disturb me if she spelled it with a C throughout the whole book. His name is spelled with a K. That's how Leroux spelled it, that's how it should be written.

Lol, as I read this I'm watching Lawrence of Arabia. I feel compelled to tell you, "It is written."
I agree, any time I see Eric or... Erick, I cringe. Erik. His name is Erik!
I note that some of this frustration may come from my own name; Kelley. Even my relatives send me birthday cards addressed to "Kelly"... -_- WHY!?

I have only one of the single most popular names a female can have and people still can't spell it right.... So I go by Mel.. It's just easier.

i am just about to DIE LAUGHING about the PhantomReviewers Review of Phantom of manhattan. XDDDDDD If the book was only half as good as his review I'D BUY IT AT ONCE. Since it isn't, I just wish the Reviewer would make an AUDIOBOOK of it. XD

He's so funny when he gets flustered over how bad something is.
