I want to read Unmasqued: An Erotic Novel of the Phantom of the Opera. I read the description.... It made me laugh so much! It's so absurd! Erik is not the Angel of Music anymore... He is Christine's erotic awakening! I really, really need a demential book XD Here's the description: "One of the world's most beloved stories as it has never been told before, "Unmasqued" is a novel of breathtaking historical erotica. His exquisite obsession... Christine Daae heard rumors of the hideous Phantom said to haunt the great Opera House in 19th-century Paris. But its youngest and brightest star knows something no one else does-the truth. For in the darkness she thrills to the deep velvet timbre of his arousing voice, and quivers to the soft strokes of his leather-gloved fingers. He is real. Her inspiration. Her "Ange de Musique," Her liberator. Her erotic awakening... Condemned to the catacombs below, Erik has desired his obsession from the shadows, careful to keep his identity, and his secret, in the dark. Only he understands Christine's extraordinary talents and her beauty. Only he can pleasure her like no man has before. But his sensual power comes with a price-and a risk to everyone who stands between them. For Christine too is succumbing to her most forbidden and dangerous desires-and to the Phantom who's making them all come true."

Even if you just want to look into it for the "erotic" parts... don't. It's mostly squick. Lots of rape. Erik is young, and is Raoul and Philippe's half-brother. Philippe is the main villain, and Raoul just sucks in general. Please, save yourself from this horrifying experience!! D: EDIT: Not to mention all the disturbingly detailed sex scenes with Mme. Giry and the managers. I was trying to forget, but the thought still makes me cringe. Mme. Giry is a dominatrix... and she enjoys molesting the managers into submission. And I think I just vomited in my mouth a little bit. OH GOD RUN AWAY! DO NOT READ!!

I just got Phantom's Legacy by Lucllia Epps.... it's horrible. Hahaha, so horrible I am now reading it because it has become funny. The author notes in her introduction that she saw the play the 2004 movie gave real life to the characters and those are the faces she had in mind for the characters while she was writing. I am trying to not have them in mind for, Gerry Butler's sunburn would not have made people wildly afraid of him and the Erik is supposed to be a skinny thing. Not as she says "God cursed me with my face so made a mockery with my body" i.e. ugly face handsome body. Nope. Even if you don't make Erik a stick, at least you could let him have his scars. And I think he's in his thirties. Yup. LND is better than this. Not to mention the editing is horrible which actually disappoints me because most published fan fiction the editing isn't THIS bad...

I personally don't mind if authors take some liberties with the characters. It's what makes each different version unique and interesting and adds variety to the phandom. I like to think of all the different versions and adaptations as one big family, and, as in every family, there are a few crazy relatives that people don't like to talk about. That being said, I am an idealist and a hopeless romantic. How is the plot?

At least have some common thread that can be looked and you can say, "yes, this an Erik." something more than a love of Christine and haunting an opera house. And I'm not entirely sure the plot is going honestly.

Oh my god so apparently there's a book called "Cum for the Phantom." And it is weirdly Leroux-influenced in places.
